About the event
This workshop aims to explore the oppressive systems that perpetuate women's symptoms, lack of diagnosis, and inability to connect to resources or treatment. Clinicians will be equipped with practical, neuro-affirming tools to support clients through these systems as well as be able to provide interventions and education on an individual level. Grounded in radical self-compassion and a strengths-based lens, this training offers strategies that align with how ADHD brains actually function. We’ll explore cycle-aware planning, motivation through dopamine and interest, and interventions that reduce shame and build momentum. Participants will learn how to work with natural cycles of attention, energy, and motivation—rather than imposing neurotypical standards of consistency.
Objectives:
- Understand the oppressive impact of systems on women's symptoms and ADHD-related shame.
- Identify the underpinnings of ADHD motivation and how it differs from neurotypical expectations.
- Be able to utilize neuro-affirming strategies that align with ADHD neurotype
- Foster self-compassion…
