About the event
The concept of a “mid-life crisis” has become a gendered topic perpetuated by socio-cultural narratives that chronically invalidate women’s experiences of transition, transformation, and liberation. This workshop aims to deconstruct these narratives to support female identifying clients in increasing awareness of how these patterns become internalized, efforts to mask and conform to expectations, and the pathologized consequences of life transitions when these collapse. Hormonal and neurological changes throughout adulthood will be addressed including navigating perimenopause and the effects on overall mental health and wellbeing including nervous system regulation exercises. The “mid-life crisis” becomes reimagined into a pivotal developmental milestone of empowerment and individuation that can be met with compassion and skills rather than shame and invalidation.
By the end of our time together you will be able to:
