Neuro-affirming Care Across the Lifespan, with Nicolle Wargo- Boswell

This training will help equip therapists and mental health professionals with a deep understanding of how neurodivergence presents and evolves across the lifespan, from childhood through adulthood. Participants will learn evidence-based interventions, assessments, and strategies tailored to neurodivergent individuals at different stages of life, with a focus on aligning therapeutic approaches with the brain's natural strengths and challenges. Emphasizing empowerment over “fixing,” this workshop will also provide tools for challenging ableism and fostering a neurodiversity-affirming approach that celebrates the strengths and unique experiences of neurodivergent clients. Additionally, participants will explore how neurodivergence intersects with race, gender, and socioeconomic status, enhancing cultural competence in providing affirming, inclusive care.
