About the event
Join our Military Veteran Expert, Fred Stone, PhD, LCSW for this engaging and informative workshop focused on dismantling barriers our military veterans face. You will love experiencing Fred's interactive and humorous style as he shares his expertise as well as his lived experience serving in the United States Air Force AND as a military social worker.
This workshop explores the complex landscape of military culture and its significant impact on veterans' mental well-being. A brief overview of the military branches and culture will be provided in order to increase understanding as we support military veterans in our clinical work. This program focuses on the multifaceted challenges that veterans face and underlying factors contributing to their struggles with mental health. Additionally, barriers that prevent many veterans from seeking help will be addressed as well as actionable strategies to overcome these barriers. Engage in thoughtful discussion including case examples to solidify your learning. As always you will leave with tangible tools to incorporate into your clinical work. NASW/CT approved for 3 VETERANS continuing education credits.
