About the event
Dissociation is one of the most misunderstood and overlooked responses in clinical practice, yet it’s a common and protective mechanism, especially in trauma survivors. This training is designed to help mental health professionals understand what dissociation really is, how to spot it in-session, and what to do when it shows up. Through interactive discussion, case examples, and practical tools, participants will leave with greater clarity, confidence, and compassion in working with dissociative experiences.
Our Objectives:
Identify behavioral, emotional, cognitive, and somatic signs of dissociation in the therapy room
Understand the neurobiology and adaptive function of dissociation
Explore how dissociation may present differently across age groups, cultures, and diagnoses
