Pelvic floor dysfunction is a common yet frequently overlooked contributor to psychological distress, relationship challenges, and diminished quality of life. Conditions such as pelvic pain, urinary urgency or incontinence, constipation, painful intercourse, postpartum changes, and pelvic floor hypertonicity can significantly influence emotional well-being while also being exacerbated by chronic stress, trauma, and nervous system dysregulation.
This one-hour continuing education program provides mental health professionals with an evidence-informed overview of the bidirectional relationship between pelvic floor health and mental health.
