About the event
An introductory workshop exploring the foundations of ADHD and why it is often underdiagnosed or misdiagnosed in women. We will cover important considerations such as the influence of hormones on the presentation of symptoms across the lifespan, especially during childhood, postpartum, and motherhood; social and cultural pressures that may lead to masking or internalizing symptoms; and limitations of current diagnostic criteria and gender biases in assessment tools. Clinicians will learn to recognize the subtle signs of ADHD in highly masking, undiagnosed clients, as well as be able to ethically support clients through navigating the assessment process, and be able to create neuro-affirming intake documentation and treatment planning.
